Do you wonder why the mainstream (non-gun owning) America thinks we are crazy sickos? Here's a quote from NYS govenor Cuomo (Bloomberg's lackey). Today starts the totally idiotic laws for mag capacity and scary weapon registration.

As the new provisions take effect Monday, New York's affiliate of the National Rifle Association said it plans to head to court to seek an immediate halt to the magazine limit.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls those and other provisions in the state's new gun law common sense while dismissing criticisms he says come from "extreme fringe conservatives" who claim the government has no right to regulate guns. (regulate=infringe?)
"Yes, they are against it, but they are the extremists and the extremists shouldn't win, especially on this issue when it is so important to the majority," Cuomo said in a radio interview Wednesday. "In politics, we have to be willing to take on the extremists, otherwise you will see paralysis."

So, us extreme fringe conservatives who are in the minority, are painted as whackos, militants and all around bad guys who get put in our place by the great govenor of NY. I bet he's proud to be an American. He is so tough with the little man behind him.

If Cuomo said "Every person with a gun should be killed" it would not surprise me in the least and many of his supporters would go along with him.

This really shouldn't be a surprise. Any one know if this great human(not the poster) has ever bothered to mention why he's all terrified about firearms?
I assume just general dictator syndrome but id be very mildly curious to see where his impressive level of hatred comes from.
yes, I'm aware its irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but its always made me wonder.
I remember hearing about that California senator who stuck her fingers in bullet wounds and claimed it was a big part of her surge to correct the heinousness of that pesky 2nd admendment.
Not sure I believe that's the whole reason but its something to at least wrap your brain around, even if its irrelevant.
For the record I'm not naming them as I just ate breakfast and id rather not vomit by typing them out.

Regulate=Infringe
Revenue=Taxes
Reasonable=Radical
Compromise=One side gives all.
Cuomo/Bloomberg=Menatlly Unstable and should apply for disability.

bodyguards

Doesn't Cuomo have bodyguards how come his armed entourage is never mentioned or brought to light ?

I called his office today and declared myself. I can't believe that he made this statement - it shows desperation. I'm leaving the house now... guess that I have to download my mags.

So let me get this straight? We are extremists, yet himself and his cohorts passed and signed a bill without the required debate and ended up outlawing every LEO?

While we are at it. why am I reading about boxers and pregnant military wife's being arrested and not every LEO in NY?

On the weekend news shows, I heard over and over again, "90% of gun owners (74% of NRA members) support universal background checks", and some other made-up statistic about 40% of guns bought at gun shows and on the Internet w/o a background check.

They pull numbers out of... thin air [had trouble thinking of something printable there] and state them as facts to support their proposals, and even if the proposal fails the false information has been planted in the public consciousness -- I think that might be the real goal all along.

"I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

I had the great joy of being stuck in the Atlanta airport for several hours last Wednesday waiting due to weather delays. ATL feels that it is best to pipe CNN through the speakers all day long and it was "gun control day" on the Communist News Network so I got to listen to the Left for over 4 hours and it was truly sickening. They did have a couple of moderates on but you could tell the interviewers just wanted them to hurry up and shut up so they could reort the "real" news. 90% want gun control, 40% of guns are bought without a background check and on and on and on.

It's interesting that Mr. Bloomberg used the word "fringe" in a statement about his wish to limit the one right specifically protected from infringement.

Just another fanatic Liberal/Progressive. I'm convinced that if the name Cuomo is attached, EVERY effort should be made to keep them out of public office.

It is sad to think that at one time New York produced great men like Theodore Roosevelt, not whiners. TR even got shot before one of his campaign speeches and went on to deliver the speech for over an hour. Here was a guy with a bullet in his chest and bleeding and he never mentioned it to the crowd. Nobody today would be man enough to do this. Makes me sick with today's garbage we call our leaders.

I just don't get it. These Democrats keep trying to make us like Europe. Why don't they just move there? We can't go anywhere because the US is the only truly free country. These liberals can move anywhere in the world and have their rights infringed upon all they like. Why do they stay here?

Sam, ever hear the saying, " I"m not happy until you're not happy"? That explains it to me. I have been loading 7 +1 in my G19 today and it really doesn't make any sense.

Can somebody explain this glaring internet gun sales loophole to me that seems to be the media cause of the moment? I've bought a good number of guns online (from Bud's Gun Shop, Krebs, and I forget who else) and in every case I made my purchase, it was shipped to my local receiving FFL and I still had to do standard paperwork and background checks to get it. Has there been some sudden explosion of internet sales where people just skip the FFL part in recent years that I missed, or is this just the media cobbling together a fictitious dead horse to flog?

Well, let's just say the media and government has twisted the words and concept a bit. Any internet purchase interstate has to go thru an FFL. However, the "internet sales" the media blows out of proportion are actually FTF sales within your own state, like ads on the internet bulletin boards, Armslist, etc.

You've seen them, WTB (CT) Ed Brown 1911 for under $1000. email me at [email protected]. That's still an "internet" sale, per se, but the media and government make it sound like all guns sold on the internet bypass FFLs and the law. You know, the usual propoganda and half truths.

I for one completely reject the "new" definition of "internet sales" and have made this clear to my Senators (among other points). Anyone who supports STM is NOT ever going to get another vote or dime from me and that goes for Gottlieb at CCRTKBA/SAF (sp ... I don't even care enough to look up the proper spelling of this idiot's name). To call STM a "good bill" is to call a VW Karmann-Ghia (of which I 've owned 3) a Porsche! :banghead:
