hey guys
i have a little bit of a problem and need some advice...
when i was a kid i did everything left handed until i got into my elementary school, they made me use my right hand for everything.
now i shoot rifles left handed and very well i can also shoot right handed well but not as good as left. I shoot my pistol left handed though i can also shoot right handed i shoot very well with both hands but i feel like i can get a more comfortable grip right handed and have to adjust more with left although i am left eye dominant... I had one of the guys a the department on swat tell me it makes for quicker transitions from rifle to pistol but im debating on if i should fully just train my self to shoot rifle right handed or shoot pistol left handed full time... advice please haha any other people out there like me!?! haha

Train yourself to use both hands equally. Training to use just one hand is useless when that hand becomes incapacitated, which can easily happen for a variety of reasons: an injury, surgery, arthritis, etc.

People like you have an edge on the rest of us, we have to train harder to use our weak hand.

does make alot of sense i can out shoot most people i know shooting trap left or right or extended range left or right and hell even pistol...

i was camping and i was shooting seeing what i was more efficient with and im better with rifle and shotgun left handed and more comfortable and better with pistol right handed but i am not bad with either and can out shoot all of my friends even using the hand im not as good with... i just dont want to have trouble making transitions from rifle to pistol if i shoot rifle lefty and pistol right... i aim with both eyes open but left eye dominant

You have the best of both worlds! Like others have said, keep training yourself to shoot with either hand. In a tactical or a hunting situation being ambidextrous can make the difference between being able to make the shot and not, or can make you more stealthy as you can chose to shoot with which ever hand keeps more of your body behind cover.

alright makes sense... the thing is also i can switch eyes or shoot with eyes open no problem... is that odd?
