Hey all,

I'm looking into a pocket gun in .380. However I am left handed and I already carry my P-01 on my right side. I would like to carry a pocket gun for my left.

However the P3at or the LCP both have magazine releases on the left side of the frame, and with my left palm pressing there, I am worried about dropping the magazine in a self defense situation, which could be fatal.

Does anyone know of any pocket pistols in this size and no smaller cartridge, that either has the old fashioned mag release on the butt, or an ambidextrous model?

Thanks,

Causa

Rohrbaugh 9mm or .380 ACP also come with heel releases. Great guns, pricey though.

Charter Arms also makes a left-handed revolver in .38spl +P

thanks both.

I'd actually looked at the R9s, but not the .380. The problem I was considering from Rohrbaugh is where to find parts.

Though nowadays, that's a problem for nearly anything. I'll give those both a look as well as the seecamp. I looked at those before as well, and maybe it's worth a deeper look.

I am left handed and have not had any trouble with the mag release I have 3 of the KT's one in pocket now You can cut it down if you want. These pistols are not made for fast reloads so cuting it is no big deal. My self I think people worry 2 much about being left handed and useing a right handed gun. Been doing it for my entire life you adapt and go on.

"...Rohrbaugh is where to find parts"

I called Rohrbaugh, gave Maria a credit card number and they showed up in the mail a few days later. If you ever need major repairs, Rohrbaugh has an excellent reputation.

FWIW:

I'm a "lefty" and my daily cc choice is my LWS380...

Absolutely the easiest to conceal pistol or revolver I've ever owned, or seen, and I (we) have three (2 LWS32's/1 LWS380) and they have ALL been 100% reliable.

Reliability IS job ONE for me in a carry weapon... No matter what you chose to carry be SURE it is reliable...

There are several very good choices now in 380cal.. I'm sure the Ruger/Sig/Kahr offerings just hitting the market are fine (don't know if the "bugs" have been eliminated yet, but heck, you can be the free "beta tester":D).

Best Wishes,

Jesse
