My Kimber Classic Royal eats everything and just spits out the brass! But today, I had a failure to go to battery. I shucked it out and guess what- - - yeap, it was an Amerc!
So I cycle in a second round. Ditto! Shucked it out and guess what- - - yeap a second Amerc. What are the chances?
Rest of the day, business as usual!:)

I haven't had any issues with Amerc. I actually get a lot of Amerc for free, so I load a good deal of it. And honestly, I haven't noticed much of a difference in life span either. But some guns are finicky, or only like certain head stamps, bullets and oal.

But if you simply need to get rid of your Amerc, just send it to me.

I find if the A-MERC brass will make it through the first reloading process it usually works OK from there on out. It may not last as long as other brands but reloading it is no problem thereafter. I am also curious what your actual problem was with them causing the stoppage.:scrutiny:

I have found that its very common for amerc to have thick rims, extractor grooves that are cut wrong, flash holes off center etc. The first two will cause stoppages in any gun. My guns are worth too much, in both monetary and personal value, for me to load that garbage brass.

As for sending it to someone, come over and pick my trash.

Do you trim old brass to standard length?

I am not fond of Amerc, but some guns will shot it OK. I just never had enough Amerc brass to consider it worth reloading (I segregate brass by headstamp and reload in batches of twenty or fifty), but I too have heard complaints it is use-once, you should cull it out of your range brass and don't keep it for reloading. I believe I once decapped an Amerc case using a Lee punch and case holder with mallet and ended up with two flash holes, and I think it was .45ACP

The only thing I've noticed is with the first loading it will try to gall when going through the bell or powder thru die. But I don't usually bell my pistol brass anyway.

Gamestaker, when I get a pound saved up I'll let you know and we can make arrangements for shipment.

I have had nothing but problems with Amerc brass ,some much that when I find it on the range I crush it so no one else will screw up there press or have problems with feeding or ejecting that $^(*(brass!

Amerc

My TRP will take anything, except amerc. I do the same as a previous poster and crush it.

Sounds like a plan guys! I'll definitely use it and maybe we can make a trade for something I've got, that you need, so your getting something for your trouble.

Amerc is total crap. The only reason I'd waste any time at all on it is to toss it in the bucket bound for the recycler with all my other tired or bad brass.

We only get $ 1.60 / pound for scrap brass here in the boonies, at 68 / pound that makes even Amerc worth 0.02! Wow!

It feels different in the sizer, like it is being crushed, so if one makes it that far I always catch it then.

Amerc makes better quality brass sometimes than most others all the time.

A lot of people say it's a waste of time to clean the primer pockets of handgun brass, but when I do it I have a chance to cull any headstamps I don't want to load. AMERC is one I cull, even though I don't recall ever having a failure with one.
