I stopped by Sportsmans Warehouse in Federal Way, WA to pick up some primers and powder and noticed that they were having a 5 day no tax sale. Sounded great except that they were out of CCI BR primers and Hodgdon Varget. In fact, they were out of a lot of stuff. Is the Obama scare affecting reloaders? Anyway - found some American Eagle .308 for $14.99 and no tax. This puts it cheaper than Midway plus no shipping. I know, I know...it's not cheaper than SA battlepacks or prvi packs but it is local, available now, you don't gotta buy 140 or 200 at a time, and no tax! Plus I needed something to blow through this afternoon and not have to wait til after Thanksgiving for it to come in.

Is the Obama scare affecting reloaders?

Around here, yes. I stopped into my local SW the day after the election and the reloading component aisle was well into being picked clean. Most of the 1lb. canisters were gone, along with a fair amount of the 8lb. jugs. Bullets in the more popular calibers and weights were also gone, and so were most of their primers. Their stock has gotten better since then but it's still not what it was, say, a month ago.

I just got a few boxes of this stuff at $16.50 (really cheap for here). It looks good. It's HP even!

OOPS:I love posting and THEN realizing that the thread is old...

Anyways, anyone shoot this ammo. Reviews?

It is pretty decent ammo, It shoots decent groups (not .25" at 100yards but 1-1.5") out of my 700 SPS varmint and its good enough for bouncing golf balls around the back of the range.
