I had an opportunity to watch, The American Road to Victory, last night on National Public TV.

It was a different presentation on WWII.

My question is I saw a M1 Garand with what appeared to be a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. I have never seen this or heard of this. Has anyone seen this series or heard of this configuration and a Garand?

Sure the M1 wasn't set up for grenade launcher sight?

I caught the last episode of three. From the website it can be purchased at several different sites.

The host,Ellwood von Seibold, is an interesting character who is Canadian/English and is a WWII historian. The show says that it is historically accurate. I may have to do research and contact the producers because it has me interested now.

Seibold runs a WWII travel business:

His website is:http://www.ddaybattletours.com/welcome.html

I am almost positive it was like a carbine ring like a Winchester lever action.
