I just bought a Glock 21 (.45 acp).

The dealer cautioned me not to use lead bullets
as the gun could explode in my hand due to the
octagonal rifling.

I saw some Remington ammo at WalMart yesterday
but it didn't say wether or not it was copper or lead.

Will it say if it is lead? Is most ammo made with copper?

Your dealer is quite correct with the Glock factory barrel in using NO LEAD or Copper Washed Cast bullets.

You will see on sideflap of the ammo boxes and then in most cases I am opening the boxes anyway to make sure all the ammo is the same. I have purchased before because of customer access where some rounds were missing.

Most anything will feed with the G21.

You can shoot lead if you get an after market barrel from Lone Wolf Distributors, KKM, Federal Barrels etc then you can shoot all the lead you want.

Most ammo will be jacketed and OK to use.

If in doubt, open the box and look. If you see copper or brass covered bullets, it's OK. Most all jacketed bullets will have lead cores.

If you see dark grey/silver looking bullets, that's lead. Don't use.
