not to revive an old thread, but do the bar-sto (or it it wolff) drop in barrel reduce the chance of Kb! by making the chamber more supported?

Seriously, how many Glocks have KB'd to our knowledge? I've heard of less tha a dozen on the internet.

How many Glocks have been sold? Someone must have the stats.

I'm going to guess that it's around .00001% to .0001%

i've shot some .45 super out of mine, i just replace the recoil spring with the heaviest one i can find. I also put in a 6" aftermarket barrel but that's not necessary. 230 grains at 1200 fps! A little recoil, there. If it can handle that it can handle plus p. I wouldn't shoot a heavy load of .45 super, but one now and then is not going to hurt it.

KBs in Glocks

Your chances of a KB in either a 21 or a 30 are so slim, you are more likely to be struck by Haleys Comet. All of the real ones I've heard about are from careless re-loaders of 40 cal. usually with lead bullets, a NO NO , with Glocks Polygonal rifling. As you know any 40 has way more pressure than the 45 acp. or 9mm. Add to this lead bullets and it's not good. You just have to pay attention to Glock's warning about this and shoot factory loads and forget the lead ,cause the rifling doesn't like it.

If anyone can find an actual incident of any 45 model Glock blowing up for any non-ammunition reason, please share. I've never even heard of one. They have all been ammunition related. And all of those have been handloads... except the following.

My favorite is loading a 40 S&W in the magazine, having a failure-to-fire, tap rack loading a 45 with the 40 pushed into the barrel, and pulling the trigger. Of course the gun blows up.

No kabooms here

This is my second G21. I sold the first out of necessity, not kb'ity.:D I use a Lone Wolf® aftermarket barrel for mine when I shoot lead reloads. I clean after every range trip, and there really isn't much to clean as it is. Shooting reloads potentially can be dangerous with factory barrel, but you increase your risk if you:
A) load your ammo "hot"
B) Don't clean your barrel thoroughly
C) Fail to inspect cases thoroughly enough
Good luck with your decision.
