I couldn't find more suitable sub-forum.

I picked up some of this today in a trade and not sure exactly what the specs are.

I know it's 7.62x39 and a magnet doesn't stick to the case or the bullet.

I used a file and scratched one of the cases fairly deep and it appears to be a brass case. It never changed color.

Any ideas on what the specs and weight are, if it's fmj or sp and all that good stuff?

Yugoslavian surplus, 123gr. Good stuff, but corrosive, so clean thoroughly.

rule303 got it right. Just shoot some windex or warm, soapy water in before cleaning and you should be good to go.

From what little bit popped up on a google search, I read that it's lead core?

I'm not real familiar with surplus ammo.

Is it boxer or berdan primed? I'm assuming berdan with it being corrosive.

Brass Cased?

If it is lead core, would it be decent for hogs? Any expansion?

Dang you guys beat me to it. I actually knew it was Yugo!

I heard it's good stuff. Never shot it. Supposed to be an accurate round.

*It is yugo surplus
*it is corrosive
*it is berdan primed
*it is lead core at least all of it I have seen.(passes magnet test)
*it does shoot well

it also come packaged slightly different on stripper clips.

To elaborate a little:
Good stuff, but corrosive, so clean thoroughly.
The "corrosive" part comes from the priming compound, which contains potassium chlorate or chloride (I forget which), a type of salt. If the rifle is a gas-operated semiauto, you must also clean the gas ports, passages, tubes or whatever it uses.
