Has anyone used Magtech ammo in .308? Did you have any problems with FTE? I know the pressure in a .308 are higher than a 7.62. Both my rifles shoot both and are made for the .308. I noticed that when using the Savage 10FCP-K my bolt action is smoother when using 7.62 than when I use the .308 Magtech. Also when I shoot 7.62 in my RRA LAR I have no FTE issues. When shooting the .308 Magtech I have had a couple FTE and the extractor ripped the lip/rim right off the casing. Would the higher pressure cause excessive expansion and thus harder to remove? In conjunction with excessive expansion might Magtech be thinner copper at the rim thus causing them to rip? The ripped portions match perfectly with the extractor. I also know that, in this case, rifles like/dislike some ammo more than others and searching for the right brand and wgt is needed at times. Any thoughts?
