Lot 3060134 30-30 Ammo

Hornady Mfg Company ballisticians have determined that some cartridges from Lot # 3060134 may be under loaded . An under loaded cartridge may result in a bullet remaining in the barrel after firing, causing an obstruction. Firing a second shot with a barrel obstruction from the first shot, will cause firearm damage and may cause personal injury to the shooter and bystanders.

DO NOT USE HORNADY LEVEREVOLUTION™ 30-30 WIN. LOT #3060134.
The lot number can be found printed on the underside of the box label.

I was about to go try out the four boxes that I recently bought. Every one of them is from this lot number...... :(

Yep, you're a winner too.

The 800 number they list just tells you call back on a weekday during business hours. The dealer I bought these boxes from doesn't have any more in stock, so he can't trade me for a different lot. Guess I won't get to try this stuff for a while.

Got my replacement ammo from Hornady today. Not bad, only 10 calendar days from calling it in to having new ammo in hand. All shipping was pre-paid by Hornady.

NOW, maybe I can go try this stuff out. Plan to sight in at the range soon and hopefully use it to fill a doe tag in October.

Sportsman's Warehouse initially put up a fuss, but once I got to the actual manager of the gun section they knew about the recall and immediately gave me my money back.

Irony. A round designed to let you use a pointed tip in a tubular magazine without firing the primer of the round in front of it, and it turns out it can seriously injure you in ANOTHER way.

Just reload em

If I had any of that lot, I'd disassemble the rounds, dump their powder into my lawn for fertilizer and put something else under it.

My first post! Just a thank you for posting that info about the Hornady ammo. I checked my batch and it was not the batch number you listed.

dang you thought they would have known better,i think it is because they rely to much on machienes now a days.wonder how many folks have used this ammo and got one jammed in the barrel.and if they fired a second shot wich caused damage will the ammo company replace or repair the firearm for them?
