Well I was able find some .45 auto at a local Big 5....it had just came in this morning, I was the first in line! I picked up 200 rounds, would've liked to buy more but the price was $26 a box, that's about $8 more than some of the online stores. Hopefully everybody will start getting some inventory and this craziness will be over! They had pretty much every type of ammo in stock except....... .380ACP, there not sure when that will be available.

Just thought I would share my good fortune!

Glad you got what you wanted.

I was lucky enough to get a few boxes of Golden Saber 380 from Cabela's; it had been out of stock, but when they got it someone in the online community was nice enough to post a "heads up" and I got some (miracle) before it was sold out again. I was real happy to open the package of "rare" 380 when it arrived.

I still say that Wally World is your best, consistent place if you are looking for range ammo. Our Sportsman's Warehouse is closing after just two years. I predicted it after their Grand Opening, great prices, then a month later: prices went to the roof. They were looking for a pay-off right away instead of developing a good customer relationship for the long-haul. Poor management, they deserve to fold. Hmmm, I see that in the auto industry, sorry to digress...

Agreed: It's tought to beat WallyWorld's stock and prices when you can find anything on the shelf. The trouble these days, as we all know from months of sad experience, is that even Walmart, with its enormous reach and buying power, is strapped to keep the cupboards full. Too many panic buyers are producing problems across the nation.

All of the Walleys in my area are consistently out of stock on ammo. And the stores in N.J. where I work don't sell ammo. And I don't think the Win Value Pack ammo is as good as it was a few years ago, I see a lot if it with case bulges. And Walleys doesn't carry the Blazer Brass ammo anymore, I used to buy all they had in stock when they did carry it, since it was and is good stuff.

Dicks sells the Remington UMC MC ammo for a little more than the VP ammo if you buy it by the case, which I do, and the stores in N.J. sell ammo. And I think the UMC is better quality than the VP. Just my $0.02 worth - skeeter_08

The Wally worlds in my area do not sell Ammo! Some of the ammo at one of the local stores was unaccounted for so somehow in the Bay Area of CA they don't sell ammo. Lucky us!

Must be a regional thing. That has been all that the Wal-Marts around me have been getting in on a consistant basis. I can usually stumble across 9mm or 40 at least once a week and pick up a couple of boxes.

Our Walmart here in South Florida is still totally wiped out. The only thing they have in stock are a few boxes of shotgun shells. Period.:(
