Keeping full boxes of a couple of each just in case 30 years from now one of them becomes a rarity every collectors has to have. Anyone else do the same?

The Hornady and the Winchester, perhaps. I’ve never heard that the less-than-mainstream brands are particularly collectible. OTOH, I know diddly about the world of ammunition collecting. It’ll be interesting to see what knowledgeable say.

If it's commonly available today it won't be a rare collectible in your lifetime...if ever. Don't plan your retirement around all the "collectible" ammo you've got stashed in the basement. I've been a serious cartridge collector for 40+ years and have curated a rather extensive collection of rare issue and experimental military ammunition. I'll probably be able to sell the top 5-10%, and the rest will become somebody else's basement full of junk.
Sad but true.

+1, sad but true!
Compared to you I'm a rookie collector. Someone will have to deal with this stuff when I'm gone. But its been fun!
