Does anyone here have any knowledge regarding firing pin failure to strike the primer hard enough to fire it. This is not a cleanliness issue. I have taken the firing pin out a couple time and found everything clean.
It seems as though the firing pin is not overcoming the return spring sufficiently.
I am hesitant to alter the spring due to the possibility of an A D if dropped.

This AMT Backup is .40 cal.

Mine was a 380 Backup and it needed a new pin spring. So I got a Wolffs to replace it. I believe the original spring was crap and should have lasted longer. I don't trust it anymore, there could be some other crappy part on it.It's just a plinker now......

Wolff springs

Thanks for the reply. I checked with Wolff but could not find any mention of the .40 backup.
