Very interesting perspective.

A few pages back he has a pic of a .22 pistol he owns in Belgium, and gets to shoot occasionally. Showed a pic of the range too.

This poor guy has to cross over to the Continent just to go plink, whereas I can go to a far nicer shooting range next door to the gymnasium on the UT campus, with full lockers packed with smallbore pistols and rifles that any student can use on the range. It's got to be danged hard to bring up a new generation of British shooters with restrictions like this. Whereas here in Texas we get gun-novice UT students coming in for "Guns 101" lessons a dozen at a time.

This fella also keep up reports on the issue of allowing Olympic shooters to get permission to practice in the UK, which apparently is not permitted currently. The antis have replied with the argument "The UK Olympic bobsled team doesn't practice in the UK either, so it's not a big deal if our pistol team has to practice in another country." Much foolishness abounds.

There but for the grace of God...

Hi Chaps,

I thought I would say Hi as someone kindly sent me an invite to the forum.

I am the chap who writes “An English Shooters Blog” and “Resurrect The Sport”.

I have enjoyed pistol shooting for longer than I care to admit :D to but sadly this activity is now illegal in the United Kingdom :cuss: .

I still have some nice firearms including:
http://glossover.co.uk/blog/default.asp?id=56 : Taurus .44 Magnum LBR
http://glossover.co.uk/blog/default.asp?id=105 : Steyr Scout Tactical Rifle
http://glossover.co.uk/blog/default.asp?id=137 : Ruger 10/22
CZ .22WMR bolt action rifle : No image I must sort that out.

I should have a few shotguns joining the stable soon as well as
CZ .22 bolt-action & a Westlake / Buckmark .22 Long Barreled pistol (http://www.westlakeengineering.com/12601.html)

But what I enjoy shooting are AutoMag pistols.

I have a little collection is the USA & Belgium although I am trying to get them all in one place.

I have loads of AMT information on my AMT Information Site http://www.glossover.co.uk/amt and have a :
.44 AutoMag (North Hollywood vintage), 3 AutoMag II’s and 2 AMT HardBallers along with my .22 Beretta 87 Target (http://glossover.co.uk/blog/default.asp?id=59) and my tarts handbag Browning GP in 9mm in nickel with a gold trigger.
Anyway I will look around the forums and say Hi from time to time.

When MatthewVanitas says “There but for the grace of God...” take note only a few years ago English shooters thought that they where fine and a few very short months later all pistols where removed from private ownership leavening only the criminals and the state with access to them, fight for your rights because if you don’t you will end up like the English who where sleep walking into not having them.

Oh the Kimber, I do like Kimber’s.

One of the posters I have on “Resurrect The Sport” site has a .22lr Kimber custom on it. When we are able to have .22’s back I will be placing an order for one; very nice.

Thanks for your kind words everyone I think I will enjoy the forum :)
