An Executive Order?

I've heard and read about Obama issuing executive orders to bypass congress and establish gun restrictions. My question is: How high is the possibility of Obama actually issuing an executive order for such a purpose, and if he does, can it be repealed?

This has been discussed in length a couple weeks ago.. But for a quick answer and personal observation....if he thought for one moment that he could...he would have by now.
 
He has already done what he can do. He didn't even really give an executive order.

The president can use executive orders to administrate the departments that fall under the executive branch. He CANNOT make new laws. He can't make a new assault weapons ban. But he CAN do things like have BATFE declare that 'sporting use' no longer includes things like Saiga shotguns, and therefore they can no longer be imported.

And yes, we have discussed this ad nauseum.
 
My apologies that this has already been discussed, and to a significant detail it seems. To be truthful, I thought that Obama passing an EO on firearms was just some internet paranoia, but I kept seeing different forum and video post about it, and I grew concerned that was some form of truth to it.

The power of EOs has been exaggerated by many. They are limited in scope and power and address how laws are carried out as opposed to creating new laws.

Currently this administration has 170 law suits pending because of his recess appointments and executive orders exceeding their legal capabilities. If only 1/10th of them succeed, he'll probably go down as the most successfully sued president. Says a lot about someone who supposedly taught constitutional law???:what::neener:
 
But, he has the pockets of the government to fight the suits, whereas the public must finance the other side of the suit - even if in reality the public is financing both sides.
