It ain’t putty by any stretch, and I wouldn’t expect it to be since it’s my first try. I fully expected this pile to end up in the trash can and it be a learning experience, but I have a useable holster.
Scrap leather from Hobby Lobby, waxed cotton thread, and what appears to be overpriced Elmer’s glue.
I rough cut the face piece and got it hot and wet to be pliable. That kinda worked, should have gave it more time. I tried to form it around the gun but that was a failure. I may try again, but doubtful. Then I pinned the corners where I wanted them with small nails and punched the holes to sew. Lacing was a pain, and next time I try this I will let it dry more and I will drill my lacing holes. Last step was cutting the belt slots. I just basically hacked it because I wasn’t satisfied with the look but the fit was decent so it’s useable. It feels good and has plenty retention for now. If I stitch on a face piece I can make it look a whole lot better and end up with a fairly nice piece for my first try.
