I carry a Kahr CW9 and it's a fantastic carry gun. The grip fits my hand perfectly, but I do no have the biggest hands. If you think the CW9 is something you would be interested in but the grip is a little too short, then you may want to look at there grip extensions.

I also have the Ruger SR9c and it's a great carry gun as well. However with the smaller/carry magazine in, the grip is even shorter than the Kahr. With the larger magazine in it may work, but harder to conceal.

A couple of things you may want to check on.
Best of luck.

You might like the FNP/FNX/FNS. It's G19 sized with a full length grip and interchangeable backstraps.

I would recommend staying with the Glock. If you like the Glock 17 but don't like the barrel length this is your best option. The fact is that the majority of guns with full size grips will have longer barrels.

A compact gun with a grip spacer will get you what you want. I know that the Ruger SR9c includes the full length mag and a grip spacer, but they're available for most other guns too.

If you're really stuck on the Glock (which there's no harm in - they're good guns but they're not really any more reliable than most other brands these days), then get a Glock 26. You can insert your Glock 17 mags with a spacer.

Here is just a random pic I found of a 26 with a spacer. This one is using a Glock 19 mag + spacer, but they make the same things for Glock 17 mags.

cz rami will be 350 or 400 or so used. Comes in .40 and 9mm. With grip extension on the mag, it's a full hand. Just as long as a hi power grip wise, but still a sub compact length wise.

Doesn't really matter what you carry. You need proper holster and belt With right gear even the full size 1911 at 40+ oz is easy to carry.
This^^

I carry a Colt 1911 Commander model every day. I paid ~$40 for a blackhawk gunbelt and ~20 for a deadeyeluke Kydex iwb. It stays put, doesn't print unless I bend way over, and it's as comfortable as it gets carrying a gun. Once in awhile I'll drop a J frame S&W in my pocket as well, but usually just the Colt.

I've got a bud of mine that's been carrying a G17 in an OWB holster for years without any trouble. He's about 6'-1 to 6'-2 and about 190#s with a skinny build. The only trouble he said he's ever had, was when he was on the Harley and the wind kept it exposed.

I think the the choices you mentioned are very viable. I carry a CZ 83 in an OWB Yaqui style holster for now. That will change somewhat when I get my holster from HBE Leatherworks - Makes a variety of holsters specifically for CZ pistols. The CZ is light enough to wear all day without noticing and fairly easy to cover up with a longer shirt.

The same can be said of my Bersa as well. It is a Bersa Thunder 9mm UC Pro that uses the same style holster as the CZ and feels about the same in weight and cover up. My other CC pistol is a Ruger SR9 full size that fits perfectly and totally unnoticed in yet another Yaqui style OWB holster.

I've never had any problems with any of those pistols of any kind with any type of ammunition and would/do trust any of them to perform flawlessly when required to do so. And as far as cost goes, the Bersa was by far the most inexpensive, followed by the CZ, then the Ruger. The Ruger will probably be my most often carried after I get the right/perfect dual use holster made.

When I was younger my carry gun in/out of uniform was a BHP, back up was a S&W 60 (38) that went in a shirt pocket or pants pocket.
Today (no longer in uniform), I only carry S&W 640 (357) which goes in a pocket (pants or jacket). I came to the conclussion that the M640 was "it" after trying approximately 15 handguns. Dude, asking What handgun should I use ...... is like asking strangers on the internet if you should have a Mounds or Almond Joy. We don't know. Be prepared to try out many and be prepared to take a loss at every gun that is not the one you thought would be the one. FWIW, my M640 has a full grip, is a 357 and has the shrouded hammer that I once despised.

Don't have any problems with IWB and my .357 EAA Vindicator.... Inexpensive, and operates the way I like... any intruder is going to hear the hammer being pulled back and if he is not A$$ hle and elbows out the door, what comes next shouldn't be a surprise.

I tried my J-frame IWB, and didn't care for it. Despite it being an airweight, with its fat cylinder it was more uncomfortable then carrying my 5-inch Government Model steel 1911 or a Browning Hi-Power. It now serves only as a pocket carry piece.
