A while back I posted that my wife almost gave me a heart attack by giving me one of my "dream guns" for our anniversary. [Beretta O/U, Silver Pigeon III]
I finally got a chance to take it out for some clays lessons...very proficient, yet curmudgeonly old-timer was my coach. I say "old," since he's twenty years older than me!
What an absolutely beautiful experience! I'd already done a good deal of searching this forum for tips, advice on chokes, loads and the like, [big thanks to Dave McCracken and all the other moderators and posters!], and have been a pistol shooter for the bulk of my life, but I was not prepared for the sheer pleasure of the experience!
I am a total novice, my last shotgun was an old Winchester, years ago. I wouldn't be able to compare makers, but I have to say that this Beretta is one fine piece of work. It almost seems to shoot on target by itself.
The crusty old teacher even said "not a bad day for a guy who has his head up his a**!" I took that as a compliment.
Thanks again for all the advice I was able to glean from THR members, I want you all to know that it's appreciated.
