Built two of the M4 kits for friends. They seem to be decent entry level stuff. The trigger was much smoother on one of the kits compared to the other and one of the multi-cal lowers wasn't finished as well. But rifles ran and are running perfect and had no complaints.
I have used Anderson lowers with PSA mid length uppers with no problems whatsoever. I tried to pick up a couple more locally but all of the recent gun control talk caused the supply to vanish in my area.
Just got back from the range with my Anderson Mfg Basic kit-built carbine. All parts are Anderson except for MOE grip, JP Ent. fcg spring kit, Armalite clamp-on front sight.
Only complaint: website picture showed rail gas block, but arrived with no-rail block.
The 16 inch 1:8 twist barrel shoots 75 hp very well. It is 4150 steel and unlined. The LPK as mentioned on the website was CMMG and not their proprietary RF85 treated parts. The carrier gas key was well staked, the FA enhanced carrier was not chrome lined. It might be RF85 treated.
Not the cheapest kit out there, but a pretty good one.
I have used their parts in about 5 builds now. They have the lowest price around, but quality is spotty enough that I won't be using their stuff any more. Aero and PSA parts are just barely more, but quality is much better.
Of my Anderson builds, I've had two uppers with out-of-square faces, so that free float handguards sit crooked enough that gas blocks almost touch the inside of the handguard, one out-of-spec bolt catch, and every Anderson upper I have doesn't line up well with other brand lowers... pins barely go in. Also every LPK has extremely stuff detents on takedown pins and safety. Makes for a hard-to-manipulate safety that is very noisy when it does go. Also their lowers don't have the pistol grip installation hole threaded all the way, and require a shorter bolt, which can be a PITA. Enough little issues like this make the low price just not quite worth it.
