Angelo Zoli O/U??

Hi all, I found a 20 ga. O/U made by Angelo Zoli. Would you compare this to a mossberg, cz, savage? I know it isn't a Beretta, but it is about half the price to. Guy is asking $450. What says ya??

Angelo Zoli was a Brescia, Italy gunmaker that went out of business in 1987.
I've seen "Angelo Zoli", "Antonio Zoli" and "A. Zoli" marked guns, which can cause confusion.Antonio makes best quality and bespoke guns.

Angelo's 20ga list prices in 1987 were between 265 and700 dollars, according to Fjestad's Blue Book, 18th edition.

If it's tight, solid and true, and it fits, I say "Aye".

It could be okay for $300 or $400, but the company went out of business in 1987 and I wouldn't want to be in charge of finding a part for it or someone to repair it. Of course, it might not ever need repairing.

Previous manufacturer located in Brescia, Italy. Previously imported and distributed exclusively by Angelo Zoli USA located in Addison, IL. Mfg. 1985-87.
Angelo Zoli went out of business in December, 1987 and was taken over by the Italian Bank of Brescia in 1989. Many people tend to confuse the shotguns of Angelo and Antonio Zoli (it is hard to determine which manufacturer made a gun marked "A. Zoli").
There is no model/name correlation between these companies/trademarks and Antonio Zoli DOES NOT have parts for these earlier Angelo Zoli long arms. Even though both trademarks may indicate "A. ZOLI" for a barrel address, the mfr. of a gun so marked may be determined by referring to the model name listings under both headings in this section.

Depending on how unique they are, parts should be available, as many guns were based on one of a few designs, like the Anson and Deeley action style

It's nicer than a Mossberg or Savage. CZs vary, but the old Zolis I've seen seem nicer as well (fit, finish, balance).

I believe (don't quote me) that the old Zoli O/Us I've seen are similar to Citoris, i.e. simplified Superposed-based guns. That's not a plus in my book, but you didn't ask whether it compares well to a Bosis.

Now the new Zolis are some nice guns, and their competition O/Us I'd venture to call budget alternatives to a Perazzi. Of course "budget" means something entirely different when juxtaposed with "Perazzi" than it does with "Mossberg".
