Ankle Holster

I got it , I wasn't worried about the calf measurement . I thought it might be the size of the "pouch". Long is fine with me.

When I travel for business or vacation ( driving)
I use my ankle holster left ankle ( inside)
Setting in my SUV .. makes it a easy draw

Thanks everyone, I got on the mailing list of one of those holster companies. There was mention of "coupons". Maybe I'll get a few bucks off. I have decided to go the old fashion route with snail mail and checks.

The Renegade was awesome. Carried one for many years with a 642. Inside left leg.

Seated in a squad car, if somebody walked up on me, I could have the gun out and behind the door and, they’d never know it.

Mine was the leather pouch, pull through.

I literally wore out the elastic on one and, ordered another. Took about 10 years to almost kill it though.

In very specific instances, ankle carry is great.

Otherwise, learn to feign a heart attack and dropping to the ground in the fetal position to draw.

Ritchie makes an excellent ankle holster. Think in terms of all-day comfort, with a “baby” Glock. (It does require trousers, with some volume, to conceal a G26, while it is on the ankle! My issued uniform trousers sufficed, with the dark navy blue color playing a part in that aspect. Most “dress” trousers‘ legs may not have that much volume, so, I am not recommending baby Glocks for general ankle carry.)

I have other products made by The Wilderness dot com, and the old Renegade was a good design, so, The Wilderness’ version should be a good one. (The elastic in my old, pre-The Wilderness Renegade simply aged-out.)

Another good reason not to wear skinny jeans, aside from the fact that they are very "unattractive" (ugly). The only real negative I see regarding ankle holsters is that I like wearing shorts the majority of the time.In regard to attire, I 've seen several mentions of footwear. Do ankle holsters ride on top of shoes or boots?

I find it a lot more comfortable with the holster on the top edge of my mid height hikers. I don't usually wear a garter with mine and it keeps the gun in place and from sliding down and takes the weight load off. The slight bit higher hasn't been a hindrance in getting to the gun either. If I were to wear low cut shoes, Id definitely wear the garter.

If you wear full height (8"-10") boots, you can get extensions for the strap that will allow the holster to go over the boot, and that works too, and is a lot more comfortable than having it strapped directly on your leg. Some holsters will directly lace into the boot as well.
