i was wondering if i could use the sierra match king for hunting?
it has a b.c. of .411 so i thingk that would stretch its capability a little, but im not sure if the bullet will mushroom well or if it will evan hold together.it is a hollow point so im sure it will do something.
and if any one can tell me if their is a .303 bullet that can be used for hunting deer that has a high BC.

The match King hollow point is there for ballistics not for expansion. The bullet travels thru the air easier with the hollow point. Seems like it shouldn't but it does. The expansion is so nil these bullets are allowed to be used by military snipers even though they are hollow points.

Don't use hollow points for hunting. They don't mushroom. I shoot 4 litre milk jugs full of water sometimes, and HP and FMJ bullets just put a hole going in and another going out. Hornady spire points will blow the jug 6 feet in the air sometimes :)

The SMK is a high performance target bullet. The hollow point is there due to the way it is manufactured, not for expansion. However there are a few about these bullets that do make them quite deadly.
When the bullet first penetrates flesh it begins to yaw, after 6-8 (I think that should be the distance, don't quote me on that) when it gets to around 90 degrees of yaw the bullet will break apart and send a flurry of fragments throughout the target. In other words its wounding mechanism is just like the milspec M193 round. It will kill quite well but it will also leave bullet fragments all throughout the target, not good if you plan on having some for dinner.
For further reference I would suggest www.ammo-oracle.com, find the section discussing the matchkings and how they wound, it should answer all your questions far better than I can here.

It would be a rare .303 that would have the basic accuracy to where the B.C. of a hunting bullet mattered much. There have been a couple of magazine articles done to show that even a roundnose bullet is not going to let you down for 200 yards or more.
