One of Michaela's little friends and her dad came over while we were shooting yesterday. Eva wanted to shoot Michaela's AR and did well enough to enjoy it. YES! Another Brownie converted to shooting. One girl at a time is my goal now. Pretty soon there will be enough for a small shooting team in Michaeal's Brownie troop.:evil:

I also fixed a problem with her dad's S&W .45.

Michaela's is a CZ upper, but everything about the gun is customized to some extent.

If I were starting out from scratch now I think I'd get one of the Bushmaster Carbon 15s in .22 for $700.

It's light and available without all the back and forth that went into the Purple Poodle Shooter and if you had a 6 position stock on it your kids could "change" the pull as they got older.

Brownies, as in junior Girl Scouts. They don't have a shootng badge, but if I can get the entire troup to learn safe weapons handling and to shoot I'll buy badges for them.

Armed with sweets and innocents

They're already armed with all they need: Thin mints, and an innocent smile.

Wondering around for two days at the Phoenix Gun Show a week or so ago, I came across across a table of Brownie/Girl Scouts selling their cookies. I spent almost as much at that table as I did on gun stuff.

I thought I had bought enough to last for several months. Hahahaha!!! Less than a week later, they were all gone. Well, they're still with me, just now they are a part of my waist, instead of in my freezer.

It is a neat gun, and I LOVE what you are doing with it (teaching youngins to shoot safely)

but... wouldn't the population ov local brownies have benefitted more from 20 or so used single shot .22's, than 1 $1000.00+ gun?

i never felt undergunned with my single shot, as a kid, growing up...

While my altruism is legendary, :rolleyes: (No, honest, just ask anyone here that knows me. :evil: ) it's my daughter's gun and was never intended as a training weapon for anyone else. Because it's "purty" and my daughter likes to share (and she brags about it to her friends just a little bit) the other girls want to shoot her rifle when they come over instead of the other two humdrum .22 single shot bolt guns. Another advantage of the Purple Poodle Shooter is that with a collapsable stock it can be adjusted for the different pulls required for the wide range in reach from the girls.

While I'm very interested in teaching as many of them as possible to shoot I had the crazy thing built for my little girl so she'd have what she wanted. I'll buy all the ammo for the other girls to shoot, but the other parents can buy their little darlings their own purple rifles.
 
This mention of an armed Brownie troop... can you really imagine a rifle company made up of little girls? Multiplied by any percentage of how many Brownie troops in this country? Sarah Brady and the Million Moron Mommies would all have nightmares from now on.:D :D :D
