How do my fellow CCW's handle the following the situations which in my opinion have limited to no LEO presence and present ripe opportunity for conflict given their isolated location.

1. Carrying in State Parks.(prohibited here in NC)

2. Carrying on Muncipal Greenways (again prohibited in most if not all towns).

Since we should be carring in a concealed fashion, does the risk of being outed and being charged with a misdomeaner outway our need to protect ourselves and our family.

And given the fact that we can only legally discharge the weapon in the event of immenint threat of death or bodily harm. So shooting snakes don't count.

Kinda makes your head spin that in an obvious isolated area, that the only people that can't legally protect themselves are those that are legally permitted to do so.

I guess we get all the goverment we pay for.

I have carried in both state and federal parks on a concealed basis where, in my opinion, there was some danger to me and mine. This was particularly true where there were bears in the park and I had little kids. Fortunately I was never "made" but had the occasion arose such that I had to defend my kids, my wife, or myself - I would not have hesitated to do so. It has always seemed to me to be backward where bears are protected but people are not:cuss:

"Concealed"

I believe you have a moral obligation to protect "you and yours." Keeping you weapon concealed is the key. Also, work with your legislators to eliminate provisions that don't make sense. Here in Texas, we have improved the concealed carry laws several times, each time expanding our freedom.

1. I obey the law.
2. I accept responsibility for the safety of myself and my family.
