Another celebrity idiot's opinion

IMO, if Depp has renounced his citizenship, at least he has the character to leave the country all the way-something he might have a tough time doing in a number of countries of which he may not like.

I'm not so certain about bringing back the black list. Notice the backlash on conservative actors these days in Hollyweird, and I sure as shootin do not want to give the government the power of further intimidation-they have too much already, IMHO.

I could care less if you are a communist, athiest, Democrat, republican, Nazi or anything else. Your rights stop at my space as sure as mine do at yours.
If you seek the overthrow of the BOR, or to twist it into something other than its plain meaning, go elsewhere.

What makes these zipper-headed celebrities think that their opinions matter?

I personally couldn't care less what they think about anything - and I wouldn't cross the street to see most of their movies...

BTW: ditto for most of the pundits/talking heads on the alphabet news!

Wonder if the idiot Mr. Depp is aware that the Ameican Puppy had to liberate the country of his current residence not once, but twice in the last century?

Last time France was a great power, it took a Corsican to lead them to Glory - well tempoary Glory that is.

The article is really talking about a good ole American boycott, and I'm 100% for it. I have my list of actors/directors whose movies I will no longer pay to see, will not rent (I'll watch for free- except Michael Moore- I turned down an offer to see BFC for free). These loud mouthed twits are paid attention to because they are rich/famous. Make them poor and anonymous and see who pays attention.

P.S. I'm always amazed that most people are completely unwilling to give up their entertainment for principle.

I read this story almost two weeks ago. Last night the local Pravda TV news show (local NBC affiliate) announces that an "actor" had "harsh words" about the USA. While scenes from "Pirates of the Caribbean" are playing the (cough) anchor is quoting him and his dribble like this is news. I showed my wife and she said "slow news night?". No, SOP. :barf:

He may be an actor but I fail to see how that qualifies him at all for enough credibility to be news at 11.

Vote! especially if you live in Kali.

Johnny is sooooooo sorry................................that his cash cow might dry up.

Punk.:fire:

Depp: 'Dumb Puppy' Quote Twisted My Words

Friday , September 05, 2003

LOS ANGELES — "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp (search) said Thursday that his comments likening the United States (search) to a 'dumb puppy' were taken out of context.

The German magazine Stern quoted the former "21 Jump Street" star as saying, "America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth — that can bite and hurt you, aggressive."

But the "Edward Scissorhands" (search) and "Sleepy Hollow" star, who spends much of his time in the south of France with his two young children and companion, Vanessa Paradis (search), said his remarks weren't mean to be taken as "anti-American sentiment."

Depp, 40, said the magazine's piece was an "insanely twisted deformation of my words and intent," in a statement. Stern stands by the story.

The actor said what he meant was that America is a very young country when compared with Europe -- and it's still growing. He said he loves his country and has "great hopes for it."

"It is for this reason that I speak candidly and sometimes critically about it. I have benefited greatly from the freedom that exists in my country and for this I am eternally grateful," he said.

Mr Depp prefers a society where people care so little about their elderly that they allow them to die in their rooms when the temperature get over 90 degrees:fire: A society that would much rather have financial dealings w/ a homicidal maniac that get him out of business :cuss: Where you can never be to liberal but being mildly conservative is the ultimate evil. EF him & everyone else like him.

I'd like to tell y'all that "Depp" is a German slang word and its English translation is "MORON"!!!

Nomen est omen.
