I have a Model 94 Winchester in .357 caliber with a 20" bbl. I would like to take it back to 16.5". It's fairly accurate shooting cast into about 2 moa and I'd like to keep it that good. My plan would be to cut the barrel and square it up good with a file. Then chuck say a 1/2 or 9/16 ball bearing in a slow drill with some fine lapping compound to finish the crown. Does this sound like a decent plan?
I realize that I have to shorten the mag tube and d&t the bottom of the barrel to complete the project but my main concern was the crown and accuracy. Thanks Nick
