Some of those fields you are hunting are positively infested with them.

I hunt a cow pasture and I am lucky to see one in a 5 hour session.

My dad and I have probably killed about 20 out of that field in the past 3 years though, so they obviously repopularte.

Yes there was a lot of them and about 150 - 200 yds. to the left of those were 5-6 more that came out, but we did not shoot because they were not in what we considered to be a safe direction to shoot at.

The property owner, an Amish farmer, was really happy we got as many as we did. He actually said "cool" when we told him the total count, lol. That was pretty funny and I have never heard them use that term before.

You guys were picking and choosing which to shoot....I am lucky if I get to shoot at all....ha.

I went about 10 times last summer and only shot twice 150-170 yards..both of them were only 5-8 pounders...they probably lost about a pound and a half when I shot them

Fun to watch these videos. Thanks for posting them.

Great stuff! I really miss the groundhog hunting I used to do during college in upstate NY. Can you ask one of those Amish families to adopt my family? I'd shoot groundhogs and I'd pay them rent to live in their barn. Not sure my wife and kids would be too happy. Well, my five year old would be extatic. He has had to make do at the indoor range here in CT. Live varmint targets for him and I don't think he'd leave the farm. Some day we'll leave suburbia to live where you can stretch your legs a bit.
