Here it goes again, another seemingly stupid/senseless shooting. Since I live here in Charleston SC, I'll bring it up.

"Police identify gunman who killed nine in South Carolina church attack"

http://news.yahoo.com/shooting-erupts-church-charleston-south-carolina-021744448.html

I guess I should state the obvious conclusions again. "Gun Free Zone" fails again. Another one, the nut apparently used a 45 ACP and reloaded 5 times, so this kind of goes against the problem with high capacity magazines. He had to get off at least 29 rounds - 8+7+7+7. A third one, the suspected gun was also bought legally. Gun laws 0 for 3. By the time we hit the sack last night there was nobody in custody and no names, victims or shooter. This morning we find out the suspect apparently sat in church with the victims for about an hour before pulling his weapon. His Uncle identified the shooter from published surveillance photos. They are still searching for him. I think it would be safe to say that he is armed and dangerous as well as stating that I feel safer than a few my neighbors by having a means to protect myself although; this is another one that will likely commit suicide by his own hand or 'by police' when he is finally cornered.

It was strange that the wife and I were watching the tube around 10:30 last night when our son 300 miles away called asking what was happening down town. Fifteen minutes later the local news broke in. Apparently a 21 year old killed 9 out of 12 in a church, including the pastor/state congressman.

What is your point?

I come to this forum to read about guns......not about crimes and criminals.

Do car forums have posts about drunks driving into a school bus killing a dozen nuns?...........no, they don't.

A crime that was committed with a firearm is as relevant to a gun forum as a drunk driver accident is to a car forum.

Just remain firm in refusing to accept guilt for another's actions. That, above all else, is why our country kept its head after Newtown. Misplaced guilt and anger are the root of so many of the world's problems.

You may not be interested in antis' conflating high profile crimes with lawful gun owners, but it is interested in you. BTW, my Challenger forum frequently posts about terrible wrecks, to condemn reckless driving and remind everyone to be careful.

No different here.

I matters because this incident will be used to restrict your ability to own guns.

Most other forums (scuba, cars, gardening) dont have subforums dedicated to legislation and activism either.
