Another hammer/hammerless question

I've seen 3 different basic designs in snubbies....

external hammer
hammerless (internal hammer)
shrouded hammer (external, but covered)

Will any of these 3 have less parts than the other 2? Does a hammerless have less internal pieces? If so, is this a good thing?

The other question you might ask is why have one of these configurations?

Exposed hammer - allows single action shooting

Concealed hammer - won't snag on your clothing

Shrouded hammer - won't snag on your clothing and can be fired single action. If you can cock it, you can shoot it from your coat pocket. Its the best of both worlds if you ask me :D
 
Actually, the S&W hammerless models have at least one fewer internal parts. It does not have a Hammer Block (the L shaped piece that sits in the grove of the side plate). Without the external hammer this part is unnecessary.
