I think you should get the Grand Power. The reason is obvious!
I keep looking at the GP Excalibur and so I am eager to see what others think of the guns from this company. :)

Seriously, all I can honestly tell you is a guy I sometimes shoot with has the EMP and really really likes it. It seems to function well at the range.

Good luck, lots to choose from.

Just to follow up on this. I ended up with the Browning and I decided to get something different that I suspect will always be a bit unique, an R51.

I wasn't entirely sure if I should get a compact or a full size; so, I hedged my bets and got a Compact pistol, and a Full Size slide and barrel assembly. If I end up liking it, the plan is to mill the full size one for a red dot.

Asking for advice here on what gun to get really is stupid question. All you will get is everyone telling you what gun THEY want to get next.

I bought a Browning 1911 380 a few months ago. What a fantastic little gun! It is a hoot to shoot and I can shoot it all day without getting fatigued. I think of it as a nice 22 target pistol that I can reload for. The size of the Browning makes it much more fun to shoot than the sub compact 1911 9mm carry guns.

I have a nice CZ-75D compact... ehh... good little gun but not near as fun to shoot as the 1911 guns.
I have a couple XD(x)'s. Great carry guns but not interesting or anything special to shoot.
I have never heard of a GrandPower.
Why no Sig 938? If I went for a sub compact 9mm 1911 I would probably go for a Sig 938.

Just saw your post on the new acquisitions. I think you will love the Browning 380! I have never warmed up to my R51... it looks cool... not that fun to shoot (for me)... and the grove for the grip safety cuts the web of my hand... maybe you will have better luck.

Congratulations!!

Which one of them do you simply want without any logic behind it ? It's free money, so no guilt...

Good choice with the Browning 1911 .380! If I didn't already have a Colt Mustang and a SIG P238 I would be looking at the Browning too!

I would have recommended the EMP4 carry, as I have been pleased with mine and know little about the other options. I am sure you will be happy with the small scale 1911 (built by Miroku?), and I hope the R51 will be the subject of future range reports.
