well sadly ladies and gentlemen i got into a spot where I sold all my rifles. Now i'm in a spot that i want to rebuild, and i'm looking for a new one. The ones I got on my mind are
1.K-31 Swiss
2.some kind of Mauser
3. CETME
4. AK

Everyday i'm positively sure that i want one of these rifles then i change my mind to another one. HELP!!

For myself, I'd get a Mauser first as it could also be used to hunt with.

AKs can be fun, but I prefer something more powerful and accurate.

K-31 looks interesting, ammo might be hard to get, odd caliber.

CETME, handled a few in gunshop, did not feel right to me.

You did not mention Mosin, they can be picked up for less than all mentioned, surplus ammo is available, accurate and powerful.

I like the CETME, or the AK.

The CETME you get a ton of power, and very low recoil for a .308 but it's not kind to brass at all. I swear by my CETME.

The AK is pretty self explanitory.

The K-31, I have no experience with but it shoots an odd round. I'd probably wait until later.

The Mauser would probably be an okay choice, but I'd put my money on the first two. I might be a little biased towards the CETME though :D

I'd go for the Mauser or the K31. I've been seeing Yugo M48s for under $200 lately and the K31 is a superb rifle and ammo is not an issue. Prvi Partizan makes good ammo at a reasonable price. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I'd be careful about the CETME, I've heard mixed reviews at best.

I think you got your list in the correct order, depending upon the type of Mauser (if Yugo i'd bump it down a notch), and assuming the CETME is a Century import (otherwise straight to the top). Either way the K31 and the AK are definitely where they should be.

:)

i just picked up a cetme in 308 and so far so good, it does like a hot load my reloads work great but factory rounds don't do so well.
as for the k31, also have one of them love it and i make my own case from 284 win very accurate gun, and would buy another if the price is right.
