Well, I found and bought a LNIB, never fired FN-HP-SA 9X19 without a single mar on it, anywhere! Accompanied with 3 mags, (1 10rd and 2 13rd) factory mags. Box, tools, lock, manual package, none ever opened. He had $450.00 marked on it and we ended up at $425.00. I don't know how good a deal it is but, I figured I basically bought a new one for that price and I doubt they come with two 13rd mags today.

Any recommendations on the best defensive 9mm ammo for reliability in feeding? I have Hi-Powers but in .40S&W.

Nice gun. I've been looking at one of these my self, and I'm debating between an FN and Browning...The FN is cheaper, but I've heard the fit and finish is better on the Browning. How'd the fit and finish on your gun? Do you have any photos that you've taken?

Thanks gentlemen!

Natedog, no Pics yet but, it looks 100% like the one in the picture. Matter of fact, the first 7 digits in the serial # are the same. I beleive it's a circa '01 gun by the serial number. It has a better trigger than the new Brownings and no mag disconnect, which is probably why.

It's tough to compare the fit and finish. The fit is every bit as good and I doubt the finish could be better. See, I have a STD Hi-Power and a Practical Hi-Power but no MKIII to compare side by side with apples to apples. I have handled MKIII's but, comparing finish by my memory, is probably not real scientific! ;)

Sounds like a good deal nowadays to me.
I understand your situation. I keep adding more instead of getting the ones I have worked on like I want.

FWIW, I use CorBon 115 +P in any BHPs I carry.
I'll try some Winchester Ranger 127 grain if I ever find some.

Wow. $425 was a pretty screamin' deal. that's about $150 less than they usually go for around here.

Looks nice!

Hello and thank you for the kind words, but I am not a gunsmith, just an observer.

Best and good shooting.

I have 9mm and .40 HP's. The only thing I don't care for is the thumb safety. Its just hard for me to quickly swipe off.

On my list of things to do someday is send one to Novak (or similar) for a nice, big, flat thumb safety. And Novak sights. Thats about all I need.

best regards

While I understand Novak does a very nice job on their thumb safety for the BHP, you might want to check the Cylinder and Slide website. They sell a widened and extended safety for a very reasonable price. I recently bought one for an old T-series BHP and am very satisfied with it. The finish matches up nicely, too.

Best,
Johnny
