Another internet know-nothing spouting off about guns

This is great.

Im sure we've all heard about the issues down in Mexico, right?

There are some who say that the weapons used by the cartels are coming from US gun shows.

I watched a video on youtube about it, and this fool was making all kinds of wild statements. Look for comments by "Madrid23"

My favorite is this one:

"wow, wow. U r getting carried away. We are talking automatic assault weapons. Like AKs and M4s. The next thing u r gonna start putting tanks and helicopters into this conversation. Legally, the difference between an automatic and a semi automatic is that a semi auto only has 10 to 12 rounds in its magazines and an auto has 30 or more. Not how many rounds u can shoot every time u press the trigger."

This only goes to demonstrate that some lawmakers have roughly the same understanding of firearms as any random 12 year old who posts comments on YouTube.

The only problem that concerns me in Mexico along the Border, is the possibility of having to deploy and fight a war on our soil as we have had to do before in our Nation's History.

Im sure everyone has something to say about it, factoid, opinion, laws etc etc etc. Our Descendants are going to enjoy being able to read, see and listen to some of this stuff long after we are passed on.

I have tried hard to stay away from these Mexico related threads. Ive been through that part of the USA quite a bit running Produce east and steel, machinery and goods west for many years.

it's rampant. a local news station did a story about the surge in gun sales and some guy posted a comment that said during the revolution in Cuba, rebels could convert a Winchester '92 into a sub machinegun with just a few simple hand tools and 15 minutes. he stuck with it after i called him on it saying the CIA taught the rebels how to do it. oh brother!
