lower gun violence, higher gun violence, bla bla bla... how bout deaths period, or violent crimes...etc...

how does that little tid bit get lost in these dumbass messages, so, fewer people are shot in areas of higher gun control, but more are beaten do death and shot... I guess we will all be safe when we live in a world of pillows and bumper cars.... then the only deaths will be by suffocation....

i just enjoy the fact-revealing statistics that differ from person to person. and the serious look and voice almost made me want to go melt down all my guns and turn them into playground equipment

During research for a paper I wrote for school, I was able to find that in areas where murder by firearm is lower, murder by other means is higher, and vice-versa. People will find another way to kill if they choose.

I registered just to leave one comment on that god-awful website.

THAT... with exception of ABC... was some of the vaguest and most ambiguous stuff I have ever heard.

I literally LOL'd when he said "2000 guns a day" ship to Mexico. A whole 2000 a day? So a rough conservative estimate would be 60,000 of the 1.5+ million firearms sold each month end up in mexico. And apparently 90% of the firearms going into Mexico are from the US... so... only 200 guns a day are brought into Mexico through South America or by sea from other countries? MAKES SENSE. It happens because there's no background checks here!!! Or could it possibly be because they obtain them illegally one way or another? Or maybe they possibly are coming from somewhere besides America?

No, That wouldn't fit the anti-gun agenda.

My reply. I got a little non-high-road on it. My bad.

Wow, I bet you got an "A" from your professor you brainwashed little twit. Did you never take a course in logic? Your argument has so many holes I could drive a truck through. Here are a few:

1) Our weak laws contribute to Mexican "gun violence". Mexico has stronger laws than we do. How come they don't have lower violence then? What makes you think that if we pass strong laws, that we won't see an influx of Mexican guns? It is a myth that US guns are flooding into Mexico to fuel the drug war. Some say 90% of them are American. That's 90% of the ones that can be traced, which is probably about 15% of the total. Black market guns from central & south America are far cheaper and come already fully automatic.

2) UK has lower incidence of "gun violence". First it makes no sense to limit your argument to "gun violence." You should look at all violent crime. The UK has always been far lower than the US in violent crime so this is not an apt comparison. In fact, their rate of violent crime went UP after they confiscated all the guns. Take a look at the rate of stabbings and assaults after the gun ban.

3) "The purpose of a gun is violence." Sometimes violence is necessary, such as when you are attacked. Every resident of Kennesaw, GA is required to own a gun. Their level of violence is very low.

4) What would you do if Bush had declared he's staying in office, despite Obama's election? He says, screw the constitution, Obama's an illegal alien, I'm president for life. Pelosi and Reid get arrested and jailed. Democrats are denied entry to the House chamber. Sound like time for a revolution? Do you think you can overthrow an oppressive illegal regime with pepper spray?

What a pathetic-looking metrosexual beta male that guy is. I had heard of such people but didn't really believe they existed until I saw him. I'd like to drop him off somewhere deep in the heart of Texas and then watch the locals take turns breaking their feet off in his ass.

The bozo in the video ... did he ever point out that Washington D.C., which has had very serious gun control laws since 1976, has also been refered to as the "murder capitol of America" because of the high murder rate there?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Actually, I turned the *&^$## thing off after he whined about Hawaii in the first ten seconds. Yeah, Hawaii.

Pick your statistic to fit the argument .....

I've heard the guy's arguments before. They didn't work then; they don't work now.

iReport.com is a user-generated site. That means the stories submitted by users are not edited, fact-checked or screened before they post. Only stories marked "On CNN" have been vetted for use in CNN news coverage.

I'm glad CNN vetted this tripe..........just goes to show you how far against the gun owners of America this news organization really is!!!

I had the feeling that at any moment he was going to tear up and start blubbering.

It's also sorta interesting that every time he mentions a foreign country :)43 the UK, :59 Britain-"foreign tyrant", 1:48 Mexico), he swivels his chair. I dunno what that means, but it's interesting.

Oh, and that "constitution as a living document" crap?

"constitution as a living document"

I am still miffed about them changing our rights to allow for the IRS and The "Federal" Reserve.

I think that a lot of things get lost in the statistics. Like varying cultures, socio-economic conditions, psychological conditions and so on. Statistics tell you something by the numbers. Crime isn't a by the numbers game, there is a lot of passion / desperation / et cetera that goes in with people choosing to take that road.

Hawaii has lower gun crime, but did that idiot take immigration pressures into account? Jobless rates? Drug abuse? Just another example of how Ivy League / Ivory Tower thinking doesn't work where the rubber meets the road.

I think he needs to move to the UK where he will be safe!

If he comes to my house to take away my guns he will most definately see an increase in gun violence!
