Once again we are shocked and amazed by yet another mass murder. This one in Binghampton, NY, has all the familiar elements of the crime: A lone, apparently disgruntled, and possibly mentally disturbed shooter, heavily armed, taking out his vengeance against unarmed victims just prior to taking his own life, as always, occurring in a anti-gun state, in a gun-free zone.

As I watched the media coverage of this horrific event, I saw the usual suspects in the form of "experts" speculating as they posed the same old familiar questions, asking who, what, how, why, and of utmost importance; where did the guns come from? As usual, they are asking questions that have little relevant purpose other than leading to a contrived and expected conclusion. More gun control.

The same anti-gun pundits will continue to ignore the facts prevalent in these types of cases.

#1- 911 and first responders are irrelevant and totally ineffective in stopping mass shootings. Yet they are always praised for showing-up and looking very menacing hiding behind trees from a hundred yards away. And if they succeed in killing the suspect, it is always after he has killed at least several, if not dozens of victims. Now I'm not disparaging the first responder. They are brave and most would give their lives to save others. I'm merely pointing out that they are not a major factor once the killing begins.

#2- No law can physically stop someone who is willing to commit murder. Furthermore, if one is willing to commit the most heinous of crimes; will he even flinch at a mere gun law?

#3- Unarmed victims are the best victims, and the mass killer knows this. That is why he seeks unarmed victims in gun-free zones. I can't recall the last mass killing at a police station or a gun show. Can you?

#4- Armed citizens are the ONLY way to effectively stop these types of rampage killers, as they are at point of contact. This, coupled with the fact that YOU are responsible for your own safety, regardless of how much we pay police, should prompt Americans to demand the right to carry. Maybe some of us should even consider civil disobedience when legislators refuse to recognize our right to self-defense.

Case in point: In this shooting, The receptionist who was the first victim, was wounded and yet was able to play dead and had the presence of mind to dial 911. I submit that under the adrenaline stress of being shot, a smooth trigger pull takes far less fine motor skill, than pressing a series of small buttons, in proper order on a tiny electronic device while bleeding.

#5- Statistically, guns in the hands of citizens stop violent crimes 1,000,000 times or more each year in the U.S.. States that have concealed carry laws in place have seen a drop in violent crimes, while states that restrict CCW, are seeing an upswing in violent crimes. Hmmmm...wonder why?

These facts are nearly ever addressed by media and government. I believe that these facts are known, but completely ignored to further an agenda of population disarmament. But that's just my opinion.

What isn't my opinion is that these shootings will likely increase in frequency and severity until we make the media and law makers ask, or better yet, answer the right questions.

Questions like: Why do we tolerate the same politicians year after year, decade after decade, endlessly pushing useless and evil laws, which have no effect other than to cause more needless death and destruction, by disarming helpless victims?

When will we hold them accountable for the blood which is on their hands, for enabling killers by denying the right to life through denial of concealed carry, which is the best and proven means of self-defense?

Now those are relevant questions.

I copied this from a thread on Warrior talk. I am posting a link. This is not my original post but I thought it was so well thought out and expressed that it was worth sharing with others who may not have otherwise seen it. I must say the informative posts and information available on this site is second to none. I value my membership on THR and get much great info here also. One can never have too many sources from which to gather knowledge. Be careful out there folks.
