My dad used to be extremely anti-gun as some of you may know. But since we bought a cabin in Vermont my mother and I mentioned the idea of trap shooting; my dad was suprisingly receptive. He has already went so far as to make a deposit on an over-under wood stock shotgun. We are also planning on buying an electric clay pigeon launcher so we can do it right off our deck.
Best of all he is going to take an NRA sanctioned safety course. Next I am going to go to my local range and try to get him to shoot some handguns. I am also going to try and get him into contact with other gun owners through some sporting clubs. My dad and I are both big time fishermen and hunting fits into the same category so that wont be too hard. Who knows this could be the start of his new life.
