I log every round I reload and every round I shoot into a master database. I serial number every box and then keep track of it in the field. This way I can track the use of each gun right down to which loads were fired in it and how they performed. I have found that by keeping good records I can really learn about my shooting skill and my gun performance.
I guess that is the scientist in me coming out. I view each trip to the range as an experiement and practice. I want to learn how to shoot better and how to make better ammo. For example from my records:
