I bought ANOTHER Remington 788 in 6mm Rem. That makes TWO I now own.
I just love this caliber and gun for P-dogs in South Dakota. The 6mm is a good choice for whenthe wind picks up in the afternoons.

I ordered scope bases and rings and mounted an old Bushnell 4x12x44 scope I had laying around. Took it out and was shooting the same handloads for the other 6mm (87g HPBT Hornadyand 38.3g Varget) and found this rifle is more accurate by a bit at 100 yards.

This will give us five good rifles for next June.

Wish we had P-dogs around Omaha. have always wanted to do some p-dog hunting. It looks so fun!

"...Remington 788..." Under-rated, so they are. Rumour has it that Remington dropped 'em because they were too good for an entry level rifle.
"...found this rifle is more accurate..." Barrel might be in a bit better condition. Work up the load for each rifle.

I have been looking for a 788 in 22-250 for years. But I do have a .222 that my daughter shoots real well. So with this latest addition I now have three 788's.
