I see their was another shooting in Calif that left 4 dead. Is this getting a lot of press and such on the news channels? Ramping up the panic again? We only have cable tv during college football season so im in the dark.

Anything that makes it to the front page of CNN.com is going to give anti-gunners something to point to, but I think they are waiting for a more deadly tragedy to renew their push for more gun control.

I think the new norm is a sense that eventually they will get their way, but there is nothing imminent to panic about.

I heard on the radio that he had 1300 rounds in magazines ... This could've been much worse.

Ok, I see 140 rounds of boxed .223, possibly 270 in magazines, an upper for an AR, and a new version of what seems to be a SAA (don't quote me, I'm not a revolver guy). Where's the other 1000 rounds of ammo, and the other half of the AR?

You really need to go down California way to see some mayhem. On the TV. Every day. I've been around and used to live down there but while visiting over a decade ago got schooled again/anew how it goes.
If a baby doesn't get splatted against a concrete wall, or twelve people shot in a drive by, it don't make the news. Guess what the news is comprised of every single day. granted this is a decade + old observation

I worked in Flagstaff for a few months 20 yrs ago. They got a big LA news station on TV there. I watched the news everyday for a few months. It was insane the amount of murders and cop killings that went on. The little preview of the stories that would be on the news at the beginning went on for 20 minutes and it was murder, murder, murder, killing, suicide , homicide, cop killing and violence violence violence....... It was straight crazy!!!!!!

What kind of muzzle device to you see on the AR upper? It looks almost like a can to me.

"Another shooting". This is the same Santa Monica shooting (four dead plus the shoot shot dead by cops as of tonight) which was reported last night (Friday) as the "Santa Monica College Shooting" ("seven" dead) which started with the shooter killing dad and brother and burning down the home, moving to the college, with nine counted official crime scenes from start to end. It will probably be reported as the home massacre, the street massacre, the bus top massacre, etc., and the Santa Monica College massacre to stir up fear to fuel another round of gun control laws. That is in California, whose gun laws exceed the word count of the New Testament, and Santa Monica where I understand it is hard to impossible to get a carry permit (doesn't stop the antis in the newssite comments sections hammering the "Hey NRA (or Wayne LaPierre) where was the good guy with a gun to stop this?" talking point over and over.)

I hear you, man. Like I said, I used to live there (I'm from here though) and it was crazy with that visit. I was going all like "dood!".

Yea, thats a 58 Remmy with a cartridge conversion cyl. Guess there will be a cap and ball gun ban there soon...

Don't forget the "tactical" gear he was wearing...black kneepads. No one needs kneepads in that color.

The shooter had an extra AR15 upper assemble for some bizarre reason; that looks like one of the fake supprssors folks permanently attach to short barrel uppers to make them over the legal limit.

The 1858 Remington cap'n'ball Civil War revolver recovered has been plastered over the TV screens all night tonight (reminds me of the movie Videodrome where after an assassination the TV screens run APB/BOLO photos of the pistol (not APB/BOLO photos of the assassin).)

The "1300" round count implies this guy was hauling around 43 fully loaded 30 shot magazines (plus maybe one 10 shot magazine; 43 x 30 = 1290). What's the weight of a loaded 30 round GI AR magazine? HINT: the spokesperson cites 1300 rounds as the "potential" rounds the shooter could have fired; no reliable round count cited.

OK: I looked it up (hat tip to Wikipedia): M16 loaded 30 round magazine 1.06 pounds, 1.06 pounds x 43 magazines = 45.58 lbs. He was carrying that plus a spare upper in a cardboard box?

These recurring scenarios with registered Democrats causing mayhems are getting really long in the tooth by now.:scrutiny:

To the California legislature, all this means is that more and stricter gun control laws are needed.

Yeah, this may indeed provoke the "Mr. and Mrs. CA turn em all in" law. Followed by house to house raids.
