Another story of concealed carry working

It's good to see he was able to protect himself (and other customers). Now I usually do not agree with carrying a firearm for self defense without a chambered round, but this man knew how to handle the situation and did so quite well IMO so I will not criticize his decision at all. Even though it is not how I would carry, it is how he does, and how he practices. That is the important thing, and it can be seen as a lesson to all who CC.

I was following this story earlier and the drive through coffee shop he works at - "Dutch Bros" apparently had a no firearm policy at work. Not sure where they stand on this now though.

While I am not an advocate of breaking company policy, I for one am glad he chose to carry anyway as it more than likely saved his own life and removed a scumbag from our streets and hopefully is a wake up to any other scumbag that tries to pull off an armed robbery.

When company policy is stupid, I'm all for breaking it. I'm glad the good guy came away from this in one piece. The company should give him an award and promote him...

I agree he should have had one chambered. And I hope none of us ever end up in that type of situation. Do you honestly think they would change their firearms policy after this?

yeah....I'm glad not having one in the chamber didn't get him killed.

Do you honestly think they would change their firearms policy after this?

LOL heck NO! They will probably put in metal detectors...for employees only.

Sounds like the barista was on opening or closing shift because he unlocked the door and let the BG in thinking it was another employee.

Anyhow he is one cool cookie. I wonder if he is a vet.

Actually I thought the newspaper account was pretty level.
How much you want to bet that the 'witness' who came forward is:
1.Collecting a reward for turning on his accomplice.
2.Even though he was involved in the crime and made sure he would not be traced by wiping down his prints on the getaway car he was not charged in the involvement in the crime by turning states witness.
Oh well.
This young guy is SO lucky he was able to rack the slide on his Glock and still dispatch the robber.
Bet he thinks long and hard about his carry procedures in the future.

The Dutch Bros coffee shops are actually just drive thru's, no inside seating. The employee apparently chose to break company policy of no firearms at work, and carry just the same. As I said earlier, I am glad he did. The company is being pretty quiet about this, but getting a scumbag off the streets is a heck of a lot better than an employee who could have just as easily been shot.

The employee must have been pretty cool headed during this as it can't be the easiest thing to rack a slide and pop off shots that were accurate enough to do the job while having a gun pointed at you. My hat is off to the guy.
