Today I had breakfast with two of my co workers at the IHOP. One of my coworkers stated that he had a Taurus mod 85 that has been sitting in his safe for the last two years and he wanted to sell it to help pay for a Smith & Wesson M&P compact 9. I asked if it were stanless or blued and if it had the hammer safety. He said that it was bright stanless and did not have the added safety. He said that he bought it new back in the early 90s.
I asked how much he wanted for it and he said $200. I told him that that was a great price and I would be more then happy to buy it from him.
He brought the gun to the office just before I got off today and it's mine now.
He threw in 2 speed loaders and 2 speed strips along with the ammo.

I have the very same in blue & from the same time period , it`s been a very solid reliable firearm .

Not the most enjoyable for a range session but it carries well & conceals great & believe it or not I feel Tauras got the rubber grips just right for a small 5 shooter , not too stiky & not too soft JMHO.

As I write this thread I am on duty and on my hip is my model 85S.I love it light wieght, accurate, and works flawlessly.semper fi.

That's a nice lookin' piece. Good pickup!

Mine is blued, if I saw a stainless like that I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Fantastic find. :D Mine's a stainless ultralite. I like it, pocket friendly. It does rock ya a bit more'n the heavier stainless gun, though. The steel guns handle heavier loads a bit better. For practice, I shoot mostly wadcutter reloads. I save the +P stuff for carry.
