Most cops use the G22 and the G23 is great for concealability.

Do you want to imitate our LEO trust in the Glock model or applying for your Conceal Carrying Weapons permit?

Ultimately find the one that feels and shoots best for you. Both are great guns...why not get them both.

Personally, it'll be a hard decision for me since I own a Glock 35 and it's frame is compatible with the G22....BUT I really want one for concealability....the G23.

Most likely I'll end up owning all of the .40S&W caliber models.

I roll my eyes a little bit every time the gun industry tells me I have to drop a full-size auto for any reason. A full-size has more weight, which lends to controllability, and a better sight radius, which lends to accuracy. When you are betting your life on it, you should give yourself every possible advantage. I never found that a mid-size auto was any more comfortable in the waistband than a full-size.

Get one if you want one, especially if it works for you, but while I am still a starving student, I won't be buying any guns for comfort or aesthetics. Rather than buying guns to fill every niche, I try to get one that does everything well.

Why would he want to get a Glock 24? They're discontinued and you're better off just getting a G35. He also never said anything about competition so I see no need for that long of a barrel.

23 versus 22? depends on what you're using it for.

frequently i see used (trade-ins) 2nd gen G22s going for unreal prices ($350 or less!). one of these could coceivably last you as a reliable sidearm for the many years of your life - assuming you don't carpool with ted kennedy.

however, aren't they the same gun in two different sizes?
if you want a range gun or maybe something to compete with, get the G22
if you need a conceal-carry piece, go with the G23
if you like glocks and the 40S&W, get both!
