Another victim turns tables, shoots robber

Close, but not quite right. The victim in the story was successfully robbed and did NOT shoot the robber. It was the victim's companion who struggled with and shot the robber several times and was also shot in the hand. After that point, the purse was lost by the robber and successfully reclaimed by its owner.

It is great when the victim fights back. This just isn't one of those cases.

A source of great comfort.

I am sure the victims, living and dead, are comforted by the department's closure rate.

Closing a case and solving a case are two different things. The police are still just secretaries with guns.
