anti gunners lied to me

after watching the news reports about the conditions on the gulf coast(we were lucky here) it seems the anti's lied to me. they said all a person would need to do in times of trouble would be to dial 911 and the police would be right there. it's not working to well in new orleans right now. i feel sorry for those people stuck there(not the looters) with no help available. i'm also upset that the anti's lied about 911 always bringing help.
 
You right, nobody will say that the police can't defend you. Actually, I'm hearing the question "why wasn't there more police to protect the people".
I can see it now, each of us will have our own personal LEO.

I even heard O' Reilly say "we need to take the AK47's away from those people". Now, he was refering to the animals, but it was apparent to me he was saying that police should protect everybody.


I don't want any LEOs to think I'm slamming them, they were swamped (pardon the pun). I'll go back to the riots in LA, the Korean sotre owners on the roofs with rifles kept their goods. Think about that. Hang a body of a looter infront of your store, I couldn't think of a better warning sign. :evil:

I am also sure the familys of the officer who was shot in the head stopping looters and all of those risking thier lives in the rescue effort thank you for your asinine ignorant comment.
 
I will add that this disaster is proof to those who still think we can save them from crime that we will not always be there. Every non-felon should have at least one longgun if nothing else for this type of nightmare N.O. is going through.
 
I am just now looking at some of those reports. It is so far beyond disgusting that I am at a loss for words. N.O.P.D. has always had a bad reputation for corruption but I would have never believed that any Police officer would be so low and immoral as to steal and rob while ignoring resuce efforts.
25-life for every last one of them with a very public badge stripping ceramony.
 
From my fairly extensive study of the situation I have found that only "African-Americans" are looting (both citizens and cops).

If anyone has any hard evidence to the contrary I would like to hear it.

I only wish to be accurate and not racist.

shield 529.. i'm not putting down leo's, i'm just pointing out that some people expect you guys to be everywhere at once, a physical impossiblity. these people(the call 911 for everything crowd) think that most people are too stupid/immature to handle anything themselves. the idea of actually defending yourself first, then calling for help confuses them. as for the looters, they should be dealt with by any means necessary. that includes EVERYBODY that's looting, even if they're wearing a badge.
 
If most of the people there are black then of course it's going to be black people doing the looting. Same goes if they were mostly white... it'd be white people looting.

What kind of "fairly extensive study" could you possibly do from Connecticut about the current disaster in New Orleans? Do you swim Canal Street counting looters and determining their race? If so, why would you do that?

You offer no "hard evidence" to support your statement but you ask for "hard evidence to the contrary."

You say "I only wish to be accurate and not racist." Wishing won't make it so.

Watching CNN, they were filming WalMart being looted. In aisle 3 guess what? Four female officers looting clothes and shoes. I have nothing against cops. But when asked what were they doing? They stated keeping looting down. Then the reporter asked, how could do that while loading a shopping cart of clothes. There are a few bad apples every where, but don't assume that all cops are looting.

Looters need to be shot. I understand people are rummaging for food, and need to do so. I imagine it is hard to make that distinction in the situation at hand.

Nope.

There is exactly one person that you can count on when bad things happen. That person should probably have the right tools and training if he wants to live through the bad things.

Thats nothing new, antis have been lying to people for years. as far as the looters, all it would take is for someone to shoot a couple of the SOBs and the rest of them would get the message in a hurry. As far as the Cops who are looting, in my mind they are no better than the trash that are looting. Thank god, not all the Cops in N.O. are involved. stealing food and water is one thing, but, TVs, dvds, jewelrY?? PLAIN AND SIMPLE THEFT.I apologize for the rant :fire: :fire:

Sadly, it seems a common question during employment interviews for police officer hires is, "What would you do if you caught your partner stealing property or money?" There has to be a reason for this question. Cadets in police academies are coached to expect this question.

I would love to hear a prospective candidate answer an interview board, "Why are you asking me this question? Do you have a bunch of crooks working for you? I don't think I want to work here."

another perspective for those who have never been thrust into this situation to consider:

people are hungry, thirsty, and may have escaped near-death without time to grab essentials and/or have no shoes on their feet; the federal government is spread too thin and aid is days or weeks away; a few feet away, inside a forbes 500 corporate-owned half-flooded store whose contents will be written off as a total loss by its insurance carrier anyway, are valuable commodities such as shoes, flashlights, packaged food or bottled water......what would you do?

i realize the looters who steal jewelry or electronics do not fit this category, but i could understand that some may be doing it for survival, and that police would not want to stand in the way of this
 
I'm with DaleJunior on this one. Wal-Mart corp. won't be reselling any of it obviously, and these people need some of those things to live. Wal Mart will object (the Almighty Dollar is worth more than lives to most large corporations) but I still think it's more to these people than it will ever be to the multimillion dollar giant Wal Mart.

Their lives are more important, and worth it.

You know, if anyone should be howling for the blood of the NOPD officers who have been seen looting it is the family of the dead officer and the officers that are actually doing their job. I am fairly certain that the remaining good cops in NO would have even more terrible things to say about their "brother officers" who are engaging in this behavior.
 
..and they will continue to lie when it's all over...

After it's all over, gun bigots will continue to lie.

They will ignore the honorable armed citizenry who defended themselves, and will focus entirely on how the presence of arms in our society contributed to looting and lawlessness.
