My siblings and I inherited this antique shotgun. The person who we inherited from did not tell us much about it. I only know that he had someone do some restoration work on it.
Can anyone tell me anything about this shotgun? I don't see any names or dates engraved on it. What do these sell for? My siblings and I need to trade these inherited guns between us.

Nice old single barrel Belgian made fowling piece. The barrel is not a Damascus twist, so it may, and I stress may be shootable with proper blackpowder loads, for those that like vintage shotguns. Belgian gun makers made tons of these for export, and were still sending them places like Africa up through the early 20th century.
It's not marked by a named maker, so value mostly goes by condition, which looks pretty good from the pictures. I'd guess somewhere from $250-$450 at an auction.

Thanks for the information guys. I did not know it was Belgian. It's amazing how light weight this gun is.
If you had a choice, would you trade it for another modern gun that was inherited? Such as a S&W .357 revolver or a Remington 1100 shotgun?

This one I would trade. Back action percussion locks just don't have any appeal to me.
