I am a fan of the .35 caliber! I love my .35 Whelen Ruger bolt gun and my .358 Winchester Browning lever action.

I need to get a .35 Remington lever gun next!

So, any of you guys/gals .35 fans??

Tom

Well, I LOVE my 336 in .35 Remington! And I've recently aquired a Winchester 1905 in .35WSL. Opinion on that one is reserved until I fire it this weekend.

I took my first deer with a TC hunter in .35 from a tree (not a stand). It droped DRT:what:. Wish I didn't have to sell it.

I shot my first deer with a .35 Whelen. It was a small doe and it literally flipped it over onto its back from 160 yards!!

I'm on a levergun kick, and a Marlin in .35 Remington is on my short list. Might go for a .30-30 first, though.

I'm also still toying with an idea that I'm tentatively calling the .358 Bubbavich: the 7.62x54R necked out to .35. From an objective cost-effectiveness point of view, this is completely bat<bleep> crazy considering that perfectly serviceable rifles are available in .358 Winchester and .35 Whelen. Still, I can't help thinking that an M44--complete with bayonet--chambered for that puppy would be the Truck Gun From Gehenna! :D

Or at least the only one on the block ...

Can't really say that I am a "fan," but I have a Remington 750 Woodsmaster carbine chambered in .35 Whelen that I won in a gun lottery last year. It shoots good. However, I don't hunt much right now and it's a little big for the deer around here. Not much option in factory ammunition as Remington seems to be the only one loading for it. I haven't had the time, and don't shoot it enough to justify reloading for it right now either. Having said that, it is fun to shoot and the new R-3 recoil pad soaks up recoil wonderfully.

Got an M-77MKII in 350 Rem Mag and a Model 70 converted to a 358 Norma Mag.
I don't currently have a Whelen, but was shopping for one when I ended up with the current 350 Rem Mag.
The 358 Norma is the perfect Alaskan cartidge for all around. Too bad it was never marketed properly.

Got a turk in the works,in 358 win. Will let you know how it shoots when complete,Should be able to handle full house loads. Also I am new here ,go by Dakoma I am from Oklahoma curently living in Tennessee,so Howdy You All

I had owned a Marlin in .35Rem many years back. Nice shooter, not too hard on the shoulder, and a tiny bit more oomph! than the well-respected .30-30.

Sold it, though during a period of 'financial embarrarsement'...read as 'out of work-n-flat broke'

Oh yeah. 35 Remington all the way. Remington Model 8 and 141, and the Marlin in my stable. I am always looking for more, too!

Love the 35's.
I have a Mod. 760 Rem. pump rechambered from .35 Rem to .358 Winchester.

Rem. Mod 700 Classic in .35 Whalen

.357 Herrett Super 14

21 inch .35 Rem. barrel for the Contneder Carbine

I also have a spare Mod 7 Rem. that will wear a .358 Win. barrel someday.

Just remembered a fellow I saw at a public shooting range a couple weekends before the Texas deer season opened.
Gray-haired guy comes up to the line on the 100-yd range and lays an ancient Savage 99 and a well-used Marlin 336 plus some ammo on the benchrest. Scopes on both rifles appeared to be Weaver K4s.
I didn't see what caliber the Savage was but noticed the Marlin ammo was .35 Remington.
The line goes hot and the guy shoots three shots - offhand - with the Savage and then looks through the spotting scope. He then puts the Savage down and shoots three shots - offhand - with the Marlin and again looks through the spotting scope.
With no more fuss he picks up his rifles and stuff and leaves.
I turned my spotting scope on his target and there were six bullet holes in about a 5" circle (or less) and about 1" above of dead center.

Whew! :what:

I guess if you and your deer rifle both know what you're doing it don't take long to sight in. :D

I have two .35 Whelen's built on M98 actions. Good deer medicine! I'd like to have the opportunity to try one of them on something bigger. Maybe some day.

Bigfoot Wallace, my "heavy" rifle is a .35 Brown-Whelen (the most radical form of the Whelen) built on an '03 action by C.W. Fitch of Phoenix -- a man who knew how to build rifles. It still has the original barrel, reamed out, re-rifled and re-chambered.

I shoot a 225 grain Nosler Partition Jacket at an honest 2800 fps, and she will corner-to-corner an elk.

Yessir! LOVE my Marlin 336cs in .35 Rem. It was my first deer rifle and still my favorite. If memory serves, I've yet to lose a deer with it. It's taken a truckload!!

Out of about a dozen Marlins, two in .35 Remongton were the best off the bench. I love the round. From time to time I weight a Yugo Mauser being rebarreled to .358 against a Social Security check. Still in torment.......Essex

35 Whelen will be my next purchase. To my way of thinking, under 300 yards you're good for anything in the world shy of true DG.

My favorite whitetail deer/black bear rifle is my Savage 99 "Brush Gun", chambered in .358 Winchester, equipped with a Redfied "Widefield" 1.5X5scope, mounted with Weaver "Pivot" mounts. With 200 grain Silvertips, deer don't travel far.
