Any .38spl, .357 mag, .44 autos out there?

Are there any current autos out here beside the Desert Eagle? I have a bunch of reloading supplies and am not a fan of revolvers.
 
Yeah, there is the LAR Grizzly. They made it in .44 mag, .45 win mag, .357 mag, a rare 10mm, and possibly others (that's all I know of off-hand). I actually owned one in .44 mag, which I bought in 1993-94, I think. Believe it or not, the serial number was 7, as in the seventh one made. Anyway, I sold it. If you're into DE's, you would probably like that gun. It was pretty accurate I remember. However, I only shot it about 50 times.
 
Thanks for the info. G. Tracker, I thought about trading off the supplies but I like the calibers and was looking for the best of both worlds. I also thought it would be easier to purchase the pistol then try and trade/sell all the components.
 
Uhh, Bobo, the man said wanted to know if there was anything out there BESIDES the DE.

And that last post really wasn't helpful at all either. Ok, the one BEFORE the last post.
 
I was looking at the AMT (very priecy) but I think that cartrige is the .44 auto mag, and not the classic .44 mag. Am I wrong? I have an old artice on it somewhere.
 
there were a couple 38spl semi auto guns- they were bullseye guns. I have heard of them but never seen them. they were wadcutter guns, and some required the brass to be modified.

Smith and Wesson 52-2, and some 1911s were done up in 38spl a quick search turned up the giles 38spl 1911.

other than that- the biggies were all touched on.

No smart arse intended here. It just seems (IMHO) that the "best of all worlds" is to enjoy autoloading pistols in traditional autoloading calibers & tradition revolvers likewise. And the LAST thing I would do is to buy an autoloading pistol expressly as an effort to make the sale of a bunch of revolver-caliber components easier (?). If you plan on selling everything anyway, (if I follow your logic) why not just buy a revolver(s) that matches? That, to me, sure seems to be an easier solution than to buy a gun and THEN try a sell a gun/ammo combo that's so "unique" that it's prompting you to ask this question to begin with.

Oh, and Deacon8, please continue to keep us all informed as to which posts you determine as helpful or not. ;)

I would like if possible to by the pistol and use all my supplies instead of selling all the reloading stuff. i sometimes confuse myself!
 
In .38 Special, there is the S&W Model 52. Clark and Giles also did (and still do) conversions of 1911s to that caliber for bullseye shooting as well.

Coonan made a .357 Magnum autoloader.

Here's an ad for one on Gunbroker.com

They go for $1200+ but are fine guns. My dad had one and it kicked like a bear. It would run 357 flawlessly and hot 38 special would run fine too.

Ahh Haa! You want to shoot (not sell) your current reloading stuff...but do it in an autoloader! I now GET IT! (But it still doesn't change my mind. Your ammo is mainstream but your (autoloading) gun options are ALL just a bit "quirky") Good Luck.

You got it Bud. I guess I just wanted to see this thread develop a little past the first three posts. You know, maybe because I was interested in what people had to say about large semi-autos BESIDES the DE.

Of course, now I have another gun on my wish list...
