Arizona is a constitutional carry state meaning that you don't need a CCW permit, but these are the type of people that wont carry guns because "Guns kill people" and various other BS I'm gonna end this before I get banned from here for saying what I REALLY think about some of this.:cuss::fire:

While I'm not too sure about Congresswoman Gifford's view on firearms, one would assume that since it is a crowd made up of Democrats, few if any were CCW. Also, from some of the photos of the wounded and killed, a lot seem to be elderly. However, there are two things I'm not sure of. Did it just happened that a high percentage of elderly were shot, or was the majority of the crowd elderly? Also, I am not sure of the statistics of how more likely, less likely, or just as likely are elderly Democrats to be CCW compared to the national average of people who CCW. It would be interesting to learn a little more about this.

I was also thinking this tragedy could have two future outcomes. If nobody was CCW, maybe it would open some people's eyes to the advantages of carrying concealed. Or, more likely, it will energize the anti gun crowd to try and get more gun control laws passed.

This was part of an email message that I received today from the CCRKBA (Alan Gottlieb's group):

“We notice,” he [Gottlieb] said, “that little has been said about the courageous armed citizen, Joe Zamudio, who helped physically subdue the gunman. Despite Mr. Zamudio’s disclosure during interviews with CNN and Fox News that he was armed, the press appears to be largely ignoring this detail.

You have to remember, this was a Democratic event, the majority of the people there were elderly and mostly non gun carry types, the young man that helped tackle the bad guy was carrying but he said that by the time he got there the bad guy had been disarmed, and he didn't want to scare more people by pulling his gun out.

BTW the proper spelling is TUCSON.

[1] As I understand it, Congresswoman Gifford is pro-gun and a gun owner herself.

[2] As noted, at least one of the citizens who tackled the assailant was armed.

[3] Under the circumstances as the event unfolded, it would probably have been a bad idea for an armed individual to have drawn and engaged the assailant. Things happened too fast, and the crowd was probably too thick.

[4] Physically restraining the assailant, as was done, was probably the best course of action.

One of the men that tackled the shooter was armed and had a CCW permit. I just saw a Fox video the interview this young man did with Geraldo (who sucks BTW).
I sincerely hope that the media plays up the actions of the woman who initially struggled with the shooter as he tried to reload and the actions of the two men that tackled the suspect.
Americans have become conditioned to embrace victim status instead of stepping up. These 3 people are an inspiration and they should be made an example for others to follow. I wonder how many people Cho would have shot if the 2nd classroom that he entered had 7 guys at the door ready to jump him as he entered?
