I'd like to gather some comparative data on a handful of rifle cartridges. My books and periodicals on ballistics are too old to include just about any cartridge released in the last 15 years. Any source(s) you can recommend? Thanks.

Thanks, Bearhands. What a site, so to speak. I'll be spending way too much time there!

Alas, I run a Mac, so the Federal software won't run on my machine without buying Windows. It's a great machine, but guys like Federal just don't build software for it. Too bad. Math and physics guys use it a lot, but there's just no spillover I guess.

You DID say you wanted COMPARATIVE data, right? if that's the case, no place compares to AmmoGuide because no place compares cartridges like AmmoGuide - HANDS DOWN...

At http://ammoguide.com/, you can line 'em up with either a metric or SAE ruler in the background (or even no ruler at all). There's a link to compare the displayed rounds ballistically with a single click. You can save "visual sets" either privately or to share with other AmmoGuide subscribers. Clicking on the cartridge label brings up detailed info for the riound, including case diagram...

With a single click, you can compare the ballistics for the displayed rounds:
